Sangu Sthapanam Ceremony (Date to be announced)

Background

While progressing with the Temple and Cultural Hall construction activities, SMS is also making arrangements for the "Sangu Sthapanam" ceremony, in which 108 special conch shells ("Sangu") will be laid under the main sanctum for Sri Murugan Temple.

Sangu sponsors will be requested to participate in a special personalized pooja to be held on the day of ceremony, and will lay their Sangus individually. SMS will make arrangements for additional priests ("Iyers") for the ceremony.

Sangu Sthapanam Layout

The sangu sthapanam area is located under the main sanctum as shown in figure. Sangus will be placed in individual 9x12 grid spaces of area 6"x6".
